There are two types: IELTS Academic (for study) and IELTS General Training (for work and migration).
Scores range from Band 1 to Band 9, with each section receiving its own band score and an overall average.
IELTS has four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking
The total duration is 2 hours 44 minutes, with Listening, Reading, and Writing taken in one sitting. Speaking may be on the same or a different day.
IELTS is available in both computer-delivered and paper-based formats, depending on the test center.
You can take the IELTS test as many times as you want.
IELTS scores are valid for two years.
IELTS is accepted in over 140 countries, including the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
